Court-Ordered and Lawyer-Recommended Community Service
Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will accept adult (16 years old and up) volunteers performing court-ordered (CO) or lawyer-recommended community service (RCS). The Food Shuttle WILL NOT accept volunteers who have been charged with violent crimes, crimes of a sexual nature, or identity theft crimes.
Community Service volunteers can ONLY participate in the following programs:
- Food Recovery and Distribution (Raleigh)
- Warehouse Helpers
- Driver's Assistant
- Egg Inspecting
- Food Shuttle Farm (Raleigh)
- Camden Street Learning Garden (Raleigh)
- Geer Street Learning Garden (Durham)
- CFH-Durham Warehouse (Durham)
- Food Service and Culinary Prep (Raleigh)
- Culinary Volunteers
The Food Shuttle reserves the right to decline any volunteer or limit which days or hours a volunteer can serve. In addition, we also reserve the right to dismiss a volunteer at any time during the scheduled volunteer time.
All volunteers must disclose the nature of their conviction/lawyer recommendation and complete a service packet that includes community services rules prior to volunteer registration – NO EXCEPTIONS and the Food Shuttle has the right to not proceed with any volunteer request if deemed necessary.
