Who We Are
Grocery Bags for Seniors supplements the fixed income of our older community members through direct distribution of fresh produce and groceries. Seniors face unique challenges, including unreliable transportation, functional limitations, and health problems that limit their access to food. The Food Shuttle partners with volunteers to help pack grocery bags each month with donated fresh produce, non-perishable food, and healthy snacks that can provide up to 8 nutritious meals. Following the packing of the grocery bags, volunteers also deliver the food to our low-income senior housing communities in Wake and Durham County. To learn more about GBS, click here.
