We're seeking individual volunteers to help our Food Recovery and Distribution team at the Food Shuttle Farm in Raleigh, NC.
*Volunteers must be 13 years of age to help with this task. Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
*This opportunity is approved for Court Ordered/Lawyer Recommended Community Service.
Where to Check-In?
Location: 2300 Dover Farm Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. Please park along the tree line where you will see staff/volunteer vehicles.
When you exit your vehicle take a short walk on the gravel road past the greenhouse until you reach the multi-purpose farm building on your left. A staff member will be there to greet you at this location
Dress Code
- You must wear CLOSED-TOE/HEEL SHOES.
- We recommend bringing gloves and water.
Tasks
- Expect medium lifting, unpacking and sorting family boxes. Other duties may be assigned by our Warehouse Manager depending on the needs of the day.
- Allergies: Please bring any allergy medications (i.e., bees, plants, etc.). There are active bee colonies on the property’s periphery and we ask volunteers to bring any appropriate allergy medication.
