Description
Are you driven to help fight against hunger? If so, come help us by accompanying a Food Shuttle driver on a truck to recover food from our community partner agencies in our surrounding service counties.
You must wear CLOSED TOE SHOES and we recommend bringing gloves, water, and a snack or lunch as you will be on the road for most of the day.
Time: Our routes do vary you in distance and time needed to pick up or drop off need to ensure that you are at the Warehouse by 7:45am and expect to stay until at least 2:30pm. If you show up too late you will not be able to volunteer for this opportunity as our drivers must stay on schedule to reach accomplish their daily tasks. Drivers will not return to the Warehouse unless they are done with their route or only in emergency situations. If you know that you are not able to volunteer for this time length, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN-UP.
Tasks: Expect to help with medium to heavy lifting loading/unloading food donations, recording food weight, and categorize food per program. Other duties maybe assigned by our Warehouse Manager depending upon the need of the day.
Youth: volunteers 13-18 may volunteer but must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact Marc for any questions.
Please contact Marc if you have any questions about volunteering. If you need to cancel, please do so ASAP.
