Hello Friends!
Please join us for a day of invasive species management as we clean up an overgrown area of our garden to bring it back to life for future planting. During this opportunity you will have the opportunity to learn what an invasive plant is and how it can be managed on a home or garden scale without the use of harsh chemicals. Be prepared to get your hands dirty as we will prune tree limbs, smother weeds with a free and natural material and pull weeds. Dress ready to work with closed toed shoes, comfortable attire, a hat (recommended) and plenty of water. Long sleeves and pants are recommended as there is some poison ivy in the area. Gloves will be available onsite, but we always recommend that you bring your own if you have them.
Please be sure to review our Geer Street Learning Garden Policies and Procedures especially if this will be the first time volunteering with us, have questions about what to wear or bring, or volunteering with youth.
