GEER STREET LEARNING GARDEN: GARDEN HELPERS
Join us for a active morning at Geer Street Learning Garden in Durham. Your team will have the opportunity to work together to complete garden tasks such as transplanting, weeding, or harvesting this season crops. Other duties may include raking, hoeing, hauling, mulching, and turning compost. Your team contribution will help us provide healthy food for our neighbors in need. *Only 3 volunteers per company/organization per shift.
Things to Know:
- COVID-19 Response: All volunteers must wear a proper face mask.
- What to bring: Bring a bottle of water, sunscreen/bug spray, a notepad and writing utensils.
- What to wear: Wear comfortable clothes and closed toes/heel shoes. Please note: there maybe mosquitos, we recommend wearing long pants and sleeves.
- Allergies: Participants with allergies (bees, plants, etc) should bring their prescribed medication. In addition, inform our staff of any allergies prior/during your volunteer date.
- Parking: free street parking is available on adjacent Mangum and Roxboro Streets; parking is also available on the lawn across the street next to the Bull City Cool building. Please, DO NOT park in Reinvestment Partners Parking Lot.
