Just like us, trees need haircuts too! Pruning trees, specifically fruit trees, helps to remove dead/decaying/diseased material, and encourages the development of healthy new branches, buds, flowers, and fruits. The branches you trim off can even be used to propagate new plants! Join us to help prune the trees at the Geer Street Learning Garden, and get firsthand experience learning how to prune and propagate fruit trees
Please wear closed toed shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. We will supply gloves and all other necessary garden equipment.
Please be sure to review our Geer Street Learning Garden Policies and Procedures especially if this will be the first time volunteering with us, have questions about what to wear or bring, or volunteering with youth.
Please contact Marc marc@foodshuttle.org if you have any questions about volunteering. If you need to cancel, please do so ASAP.
