Thank you for your interest in delivering summer meals! We are looking for individual drivers, 18 and older. If you have someone who would like to join that is fine. We only ask that children attending be 8 years old and older if riding with an adult making deliveries. Please contact us at volunteers@foodshuttle.org if you need us to adjust our system to allow you to sign up with another volunteer.
*Delivery in a Food Shuttle staff vehicle may be an option for those already qualified to drive. Please check in with the Volunteer Team VolunteerTeam@foodshuttle.org if this applies to you. If you are interested in driving a staff vehicle and committing to 5 shifts, please let us know and we can look to have you qualified to drive our vehicles.
Where to Meet?
Pick-up of meals will be at the Vernon Malone Center.

Drive to the back of the warehouse, through the truck gates. Please…
- Park tail end facing the building
- Walk thru the Kitchen Entrance that is marked with “Summer Meals Volunteers Here”
- Look for and check in with Food Shuttle Kitchen staff who will help you load the food containers into your vehicle and give you the paperwork and thermometers to take to the site
What to Wear?
- Closed Toe/Heel Shoes
- Hat for entrance into the kitchen. If you do not have a hat, you must wear a hairnet
- Have a mask with your vehicle if needed for delivery
