Geer Street Learning Garden will be hosting a Compost Giveaway community event on Thursday, April 25th from 1:00-5:30. We are looking for volunteers to assist us with this exciting and family-friendly event! There will be two volunteer shifts, 1:00PM to 3:15PM and 3:15PM to 5:45 PM. Volunteer activities may include moving tables and chairs, bagging, loading, and carrying compost, greeting attendees, safely escorting attendees across Geer St, and more. All instructions will be given at the beginning of the shift. No garden experience necessary. Volunteers should be comfortable shoveling and carrying materials up to 40 lbs. in weight. Please dress appropriately for the outdoors and wear closed toe/heel shoes.
The event will be held outdoors at Geer Street Learning Garden, 110 E. Geer St., Durham, NC.
