Food Bank Learning Garden

Who We Are

The Food Bank Learning Garden is a vibrant example of urban gardening and of the collaboration between sister Feeding America Food Banks. Once operated by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, the garden is now under the care of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle due to state and federal budget cuts that have impacted hunger relief organizations state-wide. We are honored to take on this responsibility, and to continue the legacy that this garden has made for the local community. Read more about this ongoing partnership HERE.

What We Do

We aim to serve our neighbors by cultivating a sustainable source of produce and expanding on their diet. The Food Bank Garden is a working example of how to capitalize on limited space and a testament to communities helping communities.

At this garden, we have multiple opportunities to get involved. Our volunteers help the staff with essential duties that keep the garden growing. These may include seeding, mulching, pruning, weeding, monitoring for pests/ disease, and the best part - harvesting!
