Join our staff in packing and monitoring Grocery Bag distribution!
CHECK-IN
Please arrive on time and enter through the center entrance of the Vernon Malone Center. You will be greeted by a staff member or volunteer at the front desk for check-in and orientation. Once everyone is up-to-speed with the program and safety procedures, volunteers will head back to the warehouse!
TASKS: *PACK AND MONITOR SHIFT*
Volunteers will meet first at the Malone Center to pack fresh produce and non-perishable food items into grocery bags. After packing, volunteers will be given instructions on how to oversee the monitoring of the bags at the 2 designated sites. We ask volunteers to be prepared to transport the food using personal vehicles. Volunteers will stay at their assigned site for 20 to 30 minutes to oversee the distribution of bags among the residents in a community/common space. An issuance roster will be provided. Volunteers are to leave the roster with the site coordinator or in their box outside their office. Attending monitoring training is heavily encouraged before signing up for Pack and Monitor shifts.
- Packing will be held at Vernon Malone Center, 1001 Blair Drive. Raleigh, NC 27603.
- 2 teams will be divided to monitor Amber Spring (18 bags) and Poyner Spring (35 bags) pick-up.
