Demand for garden space is higher than it has ever been before, and we can really use your help building raised beds! Building a raised bed is hard work, but with your help we can bring the joy of gardening to someone's home. If you are willing to work hard and get a little dirty along the way, please volunteer! Do not worry if you aren't an expert in building for you learn everything you need to know by working with staff and experienced volunteers.
Working Conditions
Physical requirements: Volunteers should feel comfortable with medium to heavy physical labor that includes carrying heavy lumber, moving heavy wheelbarrows of soil, shoveling soil, using a drill, kneeling, and bending. No prior experience necessary, we'll teach you what you need to know!
Dress Code: Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty. We also recommend bringing a hat!
Items to Bring: Please do not forget to bring a water bottle. We will supply all the necessary building equipment but if you have your own gloves, please bring them.
Inclement Weather: The shift will continue through light rain. In the event of thunderstorms or other weather phenomena, our staff will notify volunteers ASAP for cancellations.
